For the past week I have been taking my birth control pills one day ahead of schedule. What can I say? I live for the future. I took my Monday pill on Sunday and I took Tuesday's pill today. I'm...
This whole time I've neglected to mention that those surprise earrings I got for Christmas were made by Nat at Evil Eye Emporium. Thanks, Nat! (Thanks also to Cinnamon and Brenda for their help!)...
For details about and stuff I'll be doing in the next couple of months, including a reading in the west suburbs (Chicago) in March....
January I went boot camp crazy: did way too many lunges, squats. Thanks to this stupid page in Feb. you could calculate our mutual hots! In March I blathered on and on about horoscopes, Kirstie, and chick lit. April was...
Maybe you thought your weekend was hot shit, but you weren't riding the CTA Santa Train when it totally derailed. (Again!) And you probably didn't build a Gingerbread Currency Exchange either. Then again, you might have actually gotten all...
For those of you coming here after reading the article on women bloggers in January's issue of Glamour, welcome. More about me here; older entries (including the one quoted in the magazine) are here and here, and yet more of...

is now fixed. There were a couple of MT database issues that busted the site for a few days, but things seem to be back in order. A few recent comments that were waiting for approval seem to have been eaten in the process, though.
I can’t say I’ve been doing much besides checking NOLA.com about 10,000 times a day. That, and working to finish up a big honking project involving these things. Hang in there.

Posted by: Carolyn at September 6, 2005 11:41 AMI sure hope the project you're working is the recipes to all those delicious looking foods! And that you include the current Weight Watcher Points. I cannot wait to make the Jellied Tomato Refresher. Oh boy!
Posted by: Debora at September 6, 2005 02:33 PMHey Wendy! I just finished reading your book (bought it at B&N 2 days ago). Very funny :) Do you like David Sedaris? You guys have a similar sense of humor and writing style... Any more projects in the works?
Posted by: KB at September 8, 2005 12:36 AMYeah, I've been really wrapped up with what's going on in New Orleans as well. I'm so stressed. At least I can take comfort in knowing George Bush Jr is are leader and will bring everyone together in this time of crisis.

It's not weight-focused, but reading the summary I got eerie chills and Jemima J flashbacks. It is the story of a "ball-breaking" NYC attorney whose life is transformed by a Doris Day marathon on TV. Enough said.

I just read your book. I bought it at the airport on a quick trip home for my 97 year old Grandmother's funeral. I love Jennifer Weiner and bought your book without hesitation with her reccomendation on your cover. I laughed outloud several times on the airplane. I love the comments you made on the old weight watchers crds. I also appreciate the full body memory you recalled for me when describing spacefood. I can tast it and can gag on the memory of that gummy texture. What was that shit!!!!!??
Thanks so much for your book,
Lauren
There is going to be *more* 1974 goodness? Oboy! I can't wait.
Posted by: Hissy Cat at September 15, 2005 02:28 PMI just finished reading your book and absolutely loved it! I'm also thinking about writing about body image and getting my girlfriends to write some stuff to for an essay compilation. Your book inspired me to get on it and quit slacking off. And by the way...you're fucking gorgeous! You don't need to lose weight! But that really means shit because people tell me that all the time and I’m still eating "Atkins advantage" turd bars for breakfast.
Thanks for your fabulous book
-Em
